If you had heard the word "spice" in the beginning of 1996 you would of thought it had something to do with food, but since then it has been connected with the most successful British all girl band. There first single "wannabe" stayed at number one in the UK charts for eight weeks and sold three million copies worldwide.Since there U.K success they have been number one in 22 countries, selling over 12 million copies of their album.At the beginning of 1997 when "Say you`ll Be There" had been released, Wannabe had reached the top of the USA charts, later in may 1997 there debut album "Spice" hit the top of the USA charts.

Melanie Janine Brown
From Leeds, Mel went to Intake High School in Bramley. At the age of 16 she enrolled at Leeds College Of Music to study singing, followed by a course at the Northen School of Contemporary Dance.On completing the course she was accepted for the starlight express skating school.
Emma Lee Bunton
Emma's career began at the age of five when she modelled children's wear.At the age of sixteen Emma enrolled in the famous Sylvia Young Theatre School, where she studied dancing ,singing and acting.One year later Emma was about to give up hope after being turned down as the part of bianca in "Eastenders" when she saw a notice at the auditions for an audition for an all girl band.
Melanie Jayne Chisholm
Melanie's style has always been one of football but her first love is ballet.As a child she was known for her singing and dancing, as she would practice for hours a day.Then one day she spotted an ad for an audition for an all girl band.
Victoria Adams
At the age of 16 victoria set off to purse her dream of fame by joining the Laine Arts Theatre School, Where she found her dancing skills.After a three year course was complete she joined a small theatre company. But Victoria's real ambition was to become a singer, and when she saw an advert of a band, she auditioned for one of the most famous All girl bands in the world.
At the end of 1997 the Spice Girls manager ,Simon Fuller, was sacked and the Spice Girls became there own manager.Since then many people had said that the Spice Girls were finished, but they insisted that they were not splitting up and carried on to make a film,a range of merchandise, there own camera, Six Singles, 2 Videos, A Video Game, A magazine, 2 Albums , a book, a set of chocolates, lollies and a range of dolls
